vTrack
Vessel Monitoring vTrack provides a complete overview of all fishing vessels in the territorial waters of the fishery authorities.
vTrack is developed to conform to EU legislation no. 2244/2003, which requires that each member state monitors the movements of large fishing vessels.
Tracking by Satelite
GPS positions are automatically sent from all vessels to the Vessel Monitoring System of their flag state. The positions from foreign vessels are automatically forwarded by their flag states to vTrack, giving the coastal state the complete overview of current activity in its own territory.
Ease of Use Web Monitoring
The fishery authorities can monitor the positions of all vessels on a GIS interface. vTrack is accessible for all approved users: FMC workers, regional inspectors, onboard inspections, coast guards, and others. All that is needed is a web browser and a secure access to the vTrack server.
User Driven Development
vTrack is set up to add more value than the basic requirements of the EU legislations. The development is an ongoing process and proceeds in accordance with the users and their specific needs. Users can suggest new functions and features. In the end customers and their users prioritise all incoming ideas. The customers are invited to participate as a partner in the support and maintenance program. Daily routines, new needs and user feedback will continuously be used to adjust and develop the product.
Market Leading Standard
Your authority can buy the standard product. A maintenance and support programme is included.
Today, twelve fishery authorities have implemented vTrack: Denmark, Greenland, Germany, Lithuania, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Faeroe Islands, Estonia, USA, the EU Commission and NAFO.
