vCatch
Electronic Logbook
The daily catch is logged by the fishermen in vCatch on board the vessel. The data is registered and transferred to the fishery authorities for final inspection and reporting.
vCatch is developed to conform to EU legislation, commission regulation (EC) 1566/2007, which requires that each member state set up systems to handle electronic recording and reporting of fishing activities.
Registration on board the vessel
On board the fishermen use an electronic logbook client to report the catch on a daily basis. When the fishery authorities receive the logbooks, they are obliged to exchange some of the data with member states. vCatch handles both logging and exchange of data.
Ease of Use Web Monitoring
The electronic logbook makes the registration and reporting easy for everybody involved. The fishing authority, quota administrators, and coastal authorities have user access to the logbook from a web browser. All the users need is a secure line to the vCatch server. On board the vessel the users access by the electronic logbook client.
User Driven Development
vCatch is set up to add more value than the basic requirements of the EU legislations. The development is an ongoing process and proceeds in accordance with the users and their specific needs. Users can suggest new functions and features. In the end customers and their users prioritise all incoming ideas. The customers are invited to participate as a partner in the support and maintenance program. Daily routines, new needs and user feedback will continuously be used to adjust and develop the product.
Market Leading Standard
Your authority can buy the standard product. A maintenance and support programme is included.
Today, fishery authorities in six countries have signed a contract to implemented an electronic logbook system from Sirius IT: Denmark, Germany, Greenland, Ireland, Lithuania and Sweden.
