Architecture

The system is designed with a unique architecture to sustain the changing requirements and growth in the market for security and electronic supervision.

To meet these requirements, the architecture of choice is a client/server solution, where both the client and the server are active regarding the formation of functionality. The operator stations are PCs, with Microsoft Windows as the user interface. All data must be stored in a relational database, with ANSI SQL access to the database, thus offering extensive freedom in selection of database management systems. The preferred programming language is C and C++ to obtain the best performance plus portability to other operating systems. The servers should offer multi-processor support and the software be developed to make full use of multiple processors. The favoured Local Area Network communication is TCP/IP with the possibility to run on a dual network. All communication input/output should have two or more possible entry points.

Safecon can be configured to 100% uptime by:

Dualisation of communication and network

Redundancy of computeres and controllers

Three separate fallback levels

A multitude of servers running local copies of the relation database

Safecon has an open architecture so that almost any alert equipment can be connected and integrated.
