Sirius IT

Get Started Easily

Sirius IT offers more options to get easily started with realising an Information Management platform.

A natural pre-activity is the preliminary analysis, where we take a look at the company’s commercial objectives and relate them to the current situation – businesswise as well as technologically. In other words you can say that the preliminary analysis has an architectural view where strategy, business and technology are evaluated in relation to the company’s current maturity.

If the company has already initiated a preliminary analysis, or if the company wishes to evaluate the commercial objective through a specific solution, Sirius IT offers to perform a ’proof-of-concept’ (POC). Here we identify a pilot task with a complexity that enables the company to evaluate, if the components in the Information Management platform offer the adequate support of the commercial objectives. Specifically this could be application of service oriented infrastructure elements in the chosen technological infrastructure.

The preliminary analyses as well as the POC are based on a proven enterprise architectural method, and Sirius IT has a web-based cooperation tool where the work is structured in relation to an architectural framework.

What Does the Company Gain from the Preliminary Analysis and the POC?

The preliminary analysis and the POC aim at testing central commercial objectives and can be either broad or narrow in its view. For example the POC can focus on creating a digital workplace for a group of employees. This can be realised through the portal parts of MOSS2007, but of course it will not fully support the workflows. With this type of POC the company will get the feel of whether the tool will be appropriate. On the other hand the POC can focus on testing a link to an existing system – here we will evaluate or establish interfaces and create a link between MOSS2007 and the existing system(s).

Typically the preliminary analysis is short-term and focuses on creating the necessary indicators for the subsequent POC, success criteria, unitary query collection including usability etc.

The preliminary analysis also evaluates the company’s technological maturity, so that the POC is a natural continuation hereof, and so that no technological quantum leaps has to be taken to realise the commercial needs. On other words the preliminary analysis also includes a suggested technological platform and its future development.
