Two years ago few knew who Sirius IT in Norway was. Now we are climbing on the Universum lists faster than any other IT concern has ever done. After being number 50 last year we have now advanced to 20th place on the national lists. Perhaps the most interesting fact is that we are now 5th on the Norwegian University of Science and Technology’s list of most attractive place to work, when last year ourr ranking was 21st.
Sirius IT was established in November 2006 after an international IT concern sold its public domain in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We deliver value-adding IT solutions for the public sector as well as chosen businesses in the private sector. Our main competence is within system development and application management, and we deliver projects to many heavy public traders.
In autumn 2006 nearly no one had heard about Sirius IT, especially not the students studying at different IT colleges in Norway. The results now published from the Universum survey gives a quite different impression and shows that we have done a lot since then. Focusing on employer-branding and having a good strategy for the company, we have managed to create a strong brand and a good position among the students.
“We have worked systematically with the students and focused on being honest with whom we are and what we can offer. We invest in young talents and the combination of competence development and a good social environment is very important to us” department manager Tone H. Johnsen says.
“In Sirius IT we combine the professionalism of a big international concern with the closeness and flexibility of a local Norwegian firm. This gives our employees challenging positions in some of the most interesting IT projects in Norway, at the same time as they can contribute to developing both themselves and the firm. This helps our position and is probably one of the main reasons why our score is higher than the score of big IT concerns like Microsoft and Steria” Tone H. Johnsen continues.
