Sirius IT produces personas in connection with definition and description of target groups.
Personas are specific, but fictive descriptions of the users. It is a way of presenting the users, which can make it easier for all participants in development projects – before a requirement specification or solutions description is produced – or before even a single line of code has been written.
Personas could e.g. be based on the huge amounts of data about the customers/users already available within a company/organization. Data can be found in marketing departments, support centres, statistical reports etc. In addition to delving into known facts it can be very advantageous carrying out contextual inquiries among representatives for the intended users. Contextual inquiries usually give an invaluable insight into users and work processes alike. The inquiries not only add to the available data material but may also serve as a touchstone for already established personas.
