The software architect has worked intensively with developing systems for content management, web publishing, integration, e-commerce, digital signature, server programming and web-based client-server systems.

The software architect typically takes part as a consultant in the analysis and design phases, where he contributes substantially to the specification requirement, choice of architecture, solution design and solution descriptions. The software architect often acts as the technical coordinator through the entire development process in the development-, test- and deployment phases, and he vouches for the technical quality of the project.

The software architect often contributes significantly to the prototyping and any coding and programming of the project, or to specifically critical parts of a project.
