Energi Danmark Online gives you access to fresh news from the business community and the power industry together with online updated prices of electrical energy and currency etc.
In a closed area Energi Danmark’s customers have access to advanced consumer analyses, financial statements and an online trade area to do power deals. It is Energi Danmark’s aim that Energi Danmark Online shall be the preferred channel for the customers to buy energy.
Energi Danmark’s new solution is a business-to-business solution towards the purchasing agents and the technical and financial decision makers. The background for the solution is for the target group to be able to gather relevant information in one place only to be all round informed.
Energi Danmark Online is split into 3 main areas:
A Homepage with online update of
- power prices from the common Nordic energy stock Nordpool
- currency rates and bond prices from Nordea
- business news from Børsen Online
- weather forecasts from DMI (Denmark’s Meteorological Institute)
- energy news from Energi Danmark
A Protected Area where the customers have access to
- consumer analyses
- financial statements
- electronic invoices
- price surveys, i.e. electronic surveillance of the price development
An Advanced Trade Area with access to
- calculate offers
- enter contracts
- store electronic contracts
Energi Danmark Online is fully integrated with Energi Danmark’s IT systems for risk management and payment.
The closed part of the system can be accessed through ordinary login keys and by digital signature.
Energi Danmark’s Motive
The operational decision to develop Energi Danmark Online has been a wish to enhance the efficiency of administrative procedures when entering into power deals, and to have a high profile homepage, which can contribute considerably to the total marketing of Energi Danmark.
As a consequence Energi Danmark Online is also thought as an active sales tool.
It is the aim that Energi Danmark Online shall be a preferred homepage for decision makers when trading power.
Sirius IT's Role
Sirius IT has taken part in the total process and has contributed to the development of:

- Development of the system

The co-operation between Sirius IT and Energi Danmark is based on partnership. From the start the form has given Sirius it excellent possibilities to enter into Energi Danmark’s core business as well as to influence the development process. Energi Danmark has to a higher degree been able to draw on Sirius IT´s expertise. This part has ensured that the completed solution, not only technically but also functionally and design wise match up to Energi Danmark’s expectations and not least to their customers’ complete satisfaction.
The Solution
Sirius it has based the solution on the newest Microsoft technology. It is a .Net (C#) solution, which apart from .NET and IIS uses:
- Microsoft CMS 2002
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000
- Microsoft SQL server 2000 Reporting Ser¬vices
- Microsoft BizTalk 2004
The solution runs on a Microsoft Windows 2003 platform with use of ordinary Active/Passive cluster regarding the SQL server as well as Network Load Balancing cluster regarding IIS and BizTalk, and security based on Sirius IT own Frontdoor solution which combines ordinary login with digital signature.

Energi Danmark is Denmark’s largest supplier of electric power to companies, municipality, counties and public institutions. The company has specialised in delivering energy to customers with a total power consumption of more than 100,000 kWh and buying power of decentralized combined heat/power stations. Apart from electricity they also have competences within oil and gas, invoicing services, portfolio management and export of know-how about energy. The company’s expected turnover for 2005 is DKK 4,0 billion.
